a. Information You Provide Directly

We collect personal information you voluntarily submit through our website forms:

  • Booking form: First and last name, email address, phone number, property address, property type, preferred inspection date and time, secondary client name and contact info (optional), real estate agent name and contact info (optional), referral source, and SMS consent.
  • Contact form: Name, email address, phone number, and message.
  • Callback request form: Name and phone number.
b. Information Collected Automatically

When you visit our website, certain data is collected automatically by third-party tools we use:

  • Google Analytics (GA4): Pages visited, time on site, browser type, device type, approximate geographic location (city/region), and referral source. This data is anonymized and aggregated.
  • Google Ads: Conversion events (e.g., booking form submission) to measure the effectiveness of our advertising. This uses cookies set by Google.
  • IP address: Logged by our web server for security and abuse prevention purposes.
c. Session Data

We use PHP session storage to temporarily hold your booking information between form steps and to display your booking confirmation. Session data is stored server-side and is not persistent beyond your browser session.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Schedule, confirm, and manage your home inspection appointment.
  • Send booking confirmation and summary emails to you and to our inspection team.
  • Respond to contact form and callback inquiries.
  • Send SMS messages related to your inspection appointment (only with your express written consent).
  • Track website usage and improve the user experience via Google Analytics.
  • Measure advertising performance via Google Ads conversion tracking.
  • Protect the security and integrity of our website (CSRF token validation, server-side input sanitization).

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for marketing purposes.

3. SMS Communications

If you check the SMS consent box on our booking form, you are providing express written consent to receive text messages from GetAPro LLC related to your inspection appointment (e.g., confirmation, reminders, follow-up).

  • Message frequency will vary based on your appointment and communications with us.
  • Message and data rates may apply depending on your carrier plan.
  • To opt out at any time, reply STOP to any message you receive from us.

SMS consent is not required to book an inspection or use any other part of our service.

4. Third-Party Service Providers

We share limited personal information with trusted third-party providers solely to operate our services:

  • Mailgun (Sinch): We use Mailgun to deliver transactional emails (booking confirmations, contact form responses). Your name, email address, and booking details are transmitted to Mailgun for this purpose. Mailgun's privacy policy is available at mailgun.com/legal/privacy-policy.
  • Spectora: We use Spectora to manage and deliver your home inspection report. Your name, email address, phone number, and property address are shared with Spectora to create and fulfill your inspection order. Spectora's privacy policy is available at spectora.com/privacy.
  • Google Maps Platform: We use the Google Maps JavaScript API and Places API to provide address autocomplete on the booking form and to display our service area map. Address input you type is sent to Google's servers for autocomplete suggestions. Google's privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy.
  • Google Analytics & Google Ads: We use Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads conversion tracking. These services place cookies on your device to collect usage and conversion data. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
  • Google Fonts: Our website loads fonts from Google's servers. This results in your IP address being transmitted to Google. See Google's privacy policy for details.

5. Cookies

Our website uses the following types of cookies:

  • Session cookies: Used to maintain your session state and CSRF security tokens during form submissions. These are deleted when you close your browser.
  • Google Analytics cookies (_ga, _gid, _ga_*): Used to distinguish users and sessions for analytics purposes. These persist for up to 2 years.
  • Google Ads cookies: Set by Google to track ad conversions. Persistence varies by cookie type.

  • Booking and inspection data: Retained for up to 3 years for business records, or as required by applicable Illinois law.
  • Contact and callback inquiries: Retained for up to 1 year.
  • Email delivery logs: Mailgun retains delivery logs per their data retention policy.
  • Analytics data: Retained by Google per their retention settings (default 14 months in GA4).

7. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information, including:

  • HTTPS encryption for all data transmitted between your browser and our server.
  • CSRF token validation on all form submissions to prevent cross-site request forgery.
  • Server-side sanitization of all user input to prevent injection attacks.
  • Database credentials stored in server-side configuration files not accessible via the web.

No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

Our website is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
